New infrastructure for the AI era

We need new systems for a new era. Therefore, the AI Communications Hub will shape the next generation of AI infrastructure.
AI has created a new reality
But what many forget is that we are still trying to connect this new technology to yesterday's infrastructure. We use tools that were never intended for the kind of tasks we now expect AI to solve – working securely, flexibly, and with full control.
This creates real challenges for both public and private enterprises in Norway. Every day.
Imagine a municipality wanting to use AI to streamline case processing or citizen services. The data is spread across internal archive systems, cloud storage, and external suppliers. When the municipality tries to connect this to a generative AI model, four problems quickly arise:
The AI gives generic answers because it cannot find relevant, contextual information specific to this municipality.
The security department pulls the emergency brake because no one knows where the information actually goes when the AI model is outside the municipality's control.
The project comes to a halt because internal (and external) systems do not communicate with each other.
Trust is weakened – both among employees and citizens – because AI-based decisions lack transparency and traceability.
We see exactly the same challenges in the business world.
Imagine a Norwegian export company in the industry wanting to use AI to gain insights from market, production data, and customer feedback. The problem?
The data is fragmented between ERP systems, emails, CRM, and production facilities.
The AI model does not understand the context because the data does not flow freely to the AI.
Fear of data leakage stops initiatives, as production-critical data might end up in AI services outside Norwegian borders.
No ownership of the AI process – the company has to adapt to one specific AI provider's rules and structure.
The result is the same: AI becomes a tool you do not fully trust.
And equally problematic: AI becomes a tool that never realizes its potential because the infrastructure is lacking. As the situation stands, "all" systems in the architecture want to deliver AI services. The result is an increasing degree of fragmentation, where it eventually becomes difficult to maintain control.
You quickly lose track of what you use, who has access to the data, and how much it really costs.
Semantic search as the first step
To take the first step towards a more controlled and secure use of AI, semantic search is a natural starting point.
Semantic search can add value to your own data and prepare it for precise, controlled, and traceable use of generative AI in the next phase – ultimately laying the foundation for a more holistic approach to AI throughout the organization. Whether private or public. Semantic search is not an isolated tool but the beginning of a broader strategy. But for the company to gain real value from AI investment, a new infrastructure is also needed:
AI Communications Hub (ACH).
Having one module in the middle – an AI Communications Hub – that gathers data from various sources gives you increased control. Over your architecture, control of license use, and most importantly: Control over your data. Semantic search is an integrated part of such a module.
It is high time to talk about what is coming around the next AI bend.

AI needs a control center - not just another new tool
Were you among those who built Content Management (CMS) functionality as an integral part of website projects at the turn of the millennium?
Then you were also one of those who discovered that it was better to use established software instead of building from scratch every time. Now the same is happening in the field of AI. Are you perhaps also starting to build an AI Communications Hub for your own internal AI projects?
The same will be true here. Most companies today have data spread across CRMs, ERP systems, internal documents, and cloud services. Meanwhile, they are testing generative AI to work smarter and more efficiently.
But then the questions arise:
How do you safely connect your own data to various AI tools?
How do you ensure that the AI gives you answers you can actually trust – based on your data, not just training data from the internet?
How do you maintain control when AI models and data centers are often far beyond your reach?
The answer is not more isolated AI tools. What we need is a link between AI and the organizations' own data. And the users.
ACH is a new category - with people at the center
With a little imagination, it is difficult to see any clear boundaries for how far this can take you. Opportunities grow in line with AI development – and with an AI Communications Hub (ACH), you are in the driver's seat.
Where CMS (Content Management Systems) were developed to structure and publish content in the early days of the internet, ACH is built to connect your data to AI in the AI era. In other words: AI needs its own infrastructure.
An ACH gives you:
Full control over data flow: You decide what data AI can access – and how they are used, both internally and externally.
Flexibility in choosing AI models: Send tasks to the AI that best fits – switch between ChatGPT, NorLLM, Mistral, or your own models.
Flexibility in choice of storage location: Choose whether you want your data stored in the cloud, on your own servers, or a combination – and move them as needed.
Management of AI communication: Let AI do the job where you need it – in customer support, knowledge bases, automated research, or business analysis.
Secure architecture: Keep data behind your own firewall and manage all AI-driven interactions through one centralized control point.
We at TellusR believe that the AI Communications Hub will be as crucial for AI as CMS was for the internet. Magnus Bakken, Head of Digital at Fritzøe Engros, closely follows the development of this issue. He says that in Fritzøe Engros' work with adopting AI solutions, they have experienced precisely these challenges:
“It is difficult to connect generative AI to business-critical data in a secure way, without compromising flexibility and innovation.”
He adds: - That's why I am engaged with TellusR too. For this is not just about technology. It's about giving people better tools to make safer decisions. Decisions based on valuable insights.

TellusR: From AI search to a complete AI communication hub
TellusR began as an AI-driven search platform in 2018. As generative AI developed, we saw the need for a broader solution. What the market needs is not just good searches – but a hub that allows businesses to control how AI communicates with data, users, and systems. Today, TellusR delivers a complete AI Communications Hub, providing businesses the opportunity to take control over AI integration – with flexibility, security, and data sovereignty.
This is not about a disposable approach. It's about establishing a new standard for how we work with AI.
The AI Communications Hub is a new concept. But the need is very real. At TellusR, we are helping to shape this development – together with partners, investors, and clients. With people who see that AI only creates value when you have control over both the data – and the processes behind it.
Are you curious about how an AI Communications Hub can give your business a competitive advantage? Or do you want to be part of shaping the direction we are heading? Get in touch!
For one thing is certain: This is something we need to build together!
